Denpasar—Kodam IX/Udayana took part in the 7th TNI AD Seminar in 2023, both directly attended by Pangdam IX/Udayana Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., in the Prof. Dr. Satrio Seskoad Building, Bandung, as well as through a Video Conference (Vidcon) led by Kasdam IX/Udayana Brigadier General TNI Sachono, S.H., M.Si., M.Tr. (Han) and attended by several Kodam officials at the Soekertijo Command Center Room, Makodam IX/Udayana, Denpasar.


With the theme "TNI AD Strategy in Handling Papua Problems", the seminar, which was opened by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Wakasad) Lt. Gen. Agus Subiyanto, S.E., M.Si., was held from September 13 to 14, 2023. Invite resource persons from various agencies, such as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, BIN, Pangdam XVII/Cendrawasih, and Acting. Regent of Nduga and Presenter Danyonif R 321/Galuh Taruna and Danyonif PR 305/Tengkorak


At the opening, the Chief of Army Staff (Kasad) General TNI Dr. Dudung Abdurachman, in his speech read by the Deputy Chief of Staff, said that it was hoped that this seminar could achieve the desired target, namely getting a complete picture of the problems in Papua. At the same time, we are looking for strategic solutions to resolve these problems by providing input to policy holders regarding appropriate solution strategies towards a safe and prosperous Papua.


Kasad further hopes that the 2023 TNI AD VII Seminar will produce breakthroughs and problem-solving strategies in Papua that are more integrated, effective, and successful in realizing a peaceful and prosperous Papua. Solving the Papua problem is not just the task of the TNI; it is the responsibility of all elements of the Indonesian nation, including the central government, regional government, religious leaders, community leaders, and all levels of society.


On the second day of the seminar, Kasad, who was also the keynote speaker with the material on the role of the Indonesian Army in supporting the acceleration of Papua's welfare development, said that security and welfare issues were really interfering with Papua's progress. "The people hope that development in Papua can proceed without being hampered by conflict, so that it can be enjoyed by all Papuan people. The role of the TNI AD, which is an explanation of the main tasks of the TNI in OMSP, is always ready to synergize with all parties to build Papua's prosperity," said Kasad.


"Comprehensively, in integration and collaboration, all elements must move. Merah Putih is not just the TNI who speaks a lot, but everyone must speak, for the sake of the progress of the Indonesian nation. Hopefully the good intentions and efforts we make will be blessed by Allah SWT, the Almighty God Power," Kasad hoped.


Furthermore, through his statement, Kasad officially closed the 2023 TNI AD VII Seminar.
